Waterman 3V – SUPER FLEX 

This pretty little Waterman 3V is made of beautiful green agate celluloid. The is is pretty good condition. The body has some light scratching, but nothing major. The clip has a bit of wear on the chrome plating, but still looks pretty good. The lever is also in good condition. These pens are great because they are small, durable, portable, and when posted feel like a normal size pen. The #2 nib is a very good Super Flex nib that flexes from XF (0.3mm) to BB (1.7mm). It is also a great writing XF nib. A great little pen.

Vintage Wood Grain Pen – GOOD FLEX (On Ebay)

This is a large unbranded pen. It is 5″ long and almost 13mm in diameter. It is made of a red, grey marbled celluloid with gold-plated trim. The plating on the clip and lever are almost completely worn off, but the band is in very good shape. The body is faceted (11 sided) a bit like a Wahl Doric. The real winner on this pen is the 14kt. nib. It is a very smooth XF (0.3mm) with a bit of flex. The soft nib combined with the large diameter make this a nice writing pen.

Parker Duofold Deluxe  – (On Ebay)

This is a three banded Ladies size Parker Duofold in very good condition. There is some typical color change of the celluloid. There is also a bit of fading on the BHR end caps. The gold-filled trim is in quite good condition with just a bit of brassing on the “ball” of the clip. The clip is pulled out a bit from the body, so it does not grip a pocket snugly. The original Parker Duofold XF nib is a solid and smooth writing nib.

Eversharp Streamliner – Medium Flex – (On Ebay)

I believe this is a version of the Eversharp Streamliner. It is every similar to the Skyline, but a lower tier pen. Trim is gold-plated rather than gold-filled, but the guts of the pen is the same as a Skyline. This is a black celluloid with some light scratching. The plating on the clip is almost worn off. The lever has some wear but is in much better condition. The nib reads “Eversharp 14K.” The nib is soft, smooth and with some decent flex, but not enough range or ease of flex to be graded higher than “medium flex.”

Waterman 12 Eye Dropper 

Here is a Waterman 12 eye dropper in good condition. The chasing on this pen is pretty good on the cap, but worn (though visible) on the body. Imprints are pretty good. Color is more of a dark brown. Both gold filled bands have no signs of brassing. One band is personalized “M.E.P.” The top of the cap has some bite marks (see pics), but the pen is crack free. It had no original clip. The nib is great. It’s a F that writes wet and smooth and has some great flex up to 1.7mm. A nice looking pen with a great nib.

Waterman 14 Eyedropper  – SUPER FLEX (On Ebay)

Here is a Waterman 14 eyedropper that definitely has a vintage look to it. It has browned pretty significantly to a light to medium brown, although under the cap is still black. Chasing is worn almost entirely off the pen. The imprint on the barrel is pretty worn though very readable, but the “14” is still quite crisp. The nib however is fantastic. It’s a very smooth Medium that that flexes up 2.0mm with very little pressure. It is close to wet noodle ease of flex. The nib looks a bit oblique, but it doesn’t write or feel that way. This is a great writer as well as flex nib.

Waterman 52 – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

This Waterman 52 is in good condition except for the browning of hard rubber as you can see in the pics. Chasing and imprints are still pretty good. A bit more wear on the body than the cap. Trim looks pretty good, but there is a little plate wear on the top of the clip and lever. The nib does have a small crack coming from the air hole. I couldn’t pick it up on a photo. The nib flexes from a M (0.6mm) to a huge 2.5mm. The flex is quite easy. Not paintbrush easy, but it requires very little pressure. However, to really take advantage of the flex, you need a high surface tension ink (like the Pilot Iroshizuku I’m including). With thinner, more water inks you can still flex but you will get some railroading when you go over the 1.7-1.8mm range. The nib is very wet and smooth.

Waterman 12 Eye Dropper – SUPER FLEX

Here is old Waterman 12 Eyedropper that looks like a vintage pen. The chasing on this pen is worn almost completely off. Imprints are worn but readable. It has faded to a dark brown color. It is also missing the clip from the cap. The nib does have a very small crack coming out of the air hole. I tried to pick it up in the picture, but it is quite small. I have graded the flex as “Super Flex” even though it doesn’t have the ability to make huge lines. Nevertheless, it is a XXF nib that flexes easily and with pretty decent responsiveness, so flexing looks nice. Detailed, small print flexing is also very good. I personally really like the way this XXF nib writes normally as well. This is a fun pen to play around with.

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Pen/Pencil Combo – Good Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is an interesting Wahl-Eversharp Pen/Pencil combo. They have grey bodies with gold-filled trim. Both are in working order (though I did no mechanical work on the pencil. It just worked). The pen is in excellent condition. Light scratching as usual with these pens, but nothing significant. Just a little brassing on the lever. The rest of the trim looks great. The pencil has a deep scratch in the gold-filled wrap, and a crack in the celluloid right next to the clip (see pics). The nib is juicy and smooth. This is either a low end super flex or a high end good flex. In the end, I decided it was a bit too stiff to be called a super flex. I’ll even throw in some vintage Eversharp lead for the pen if you wish it.

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline (Demi) – Good Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is a Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Demi size in chocolate brown. The pen is in very good condition. There is a bit of brassing on the lever, but that is about it. The rest of the gold trim looks great. The nib is a delightful XF (0.3mm) that is pretty wet and smooth. A joy for normal writing. The flex is decent, though the numbers look a bit better than it feels. In grading this “good flex,” I went more on the look than the feel. It feels more like “medium flex,” but then you start seeing what you are writing and it turns out better than you expect. This nib looks and feels more like Eversharp’s “Signature” nib, which many would call a “semi-flex” nib.
