Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex! (SOLD)

IMG_5557

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

This is a grey and gold Skyline in standard size (5 1/4″). Overall, the pen is in great condition. The gold trim looks great. There is just one small spot of brassing on the lever. The body looks good with just some very light scratching that you can only see if you look very close. The only real flaw is that there is a hairline crack through part of the threads. You can barely see it with the naked eye. I shellacked the section into the barrel to prevent further cracking. It should hold up well. The 14kt. Eversharp nib is a smooth XF that flexes well up to 1.9mm. It has pretty decent responsiveness making it a nice super flex nib.

Wahl-Eversharp Doric w/ “Flexible” Nib – Wet Noodle

IMG_5823

Wahl-Eversharp Doric – Wet Noodle – (See Price Here)

Here is a great 1st generation Wahl-Eversharp Doric in black with gold-filled trim and a great Eversharp “Flexible” nib. The pen is in great condition. It does have some light scratching throughout the pen, which always more obvious in glossy black. The gold filled trim is in good condition. I can only find some light brassing on the band, and it took magnification to see that. To the naked eye, it all looks great. The double check gold seal is still present and looking good. But the stunner on this pen is the fabulous 14kt. Everhsharp, Gold Seal “Flexible” nib. This is a smooth writing XF that has massive flex up to 2.8mm!! This is not a paintbrush, but the flex is quite easy. The feed has no problem keeping up with this monster flexing action.

Waterman 13 – Wet Noodle

IMG_5469

Waterman 13 Eye Dropper – Wet Noodle (See Price Here)

Here is a Waterman 13 (sorry the pic is wrong) with an outstanding wet noodle nib. It is made of smooth black hard rubber (no original chasing) which has greyed and faded a bit though it is till blackish. Imprints are still very good. An accommodation cap was installed at some point and moved much later leaving a blacker outline on the cap where the clip used to be. There also appeared to be some kind of band on the barrel (not an original band though) that was removed and left a blacker outline from where it used to be. The clip still functions but has rusted a bit. The real star of this pen though is the nib. It is a great, almost dip nib like wet noodle. It is extremely fine and flexes up to 2.3mm very easily. It would make a great Copperplate nib. (See Price Here)

SIZE:  5 1/4″ Capped

Wahl-Eversharp Doric #3 Adjustable Nib – Super Flex (SOLD)

IMG_5896

Wahl-Eversharp Doric #3 Adjustable Nib – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is gorgeous Wahl-Eversharp 1st generation Doric. It is in the Kashmir style, which is just stunning. This pen really pops. The Kashmir celluloid is notorious for “crazing” (i.e. developing cracks in celluloid), and this pen has a small crack extending from both side of the top of the clip. There is also one small crack in lip of the cap, and also a small chip (see pics). Otherwise, it shows no signs of any other crazing. The gold trim looks silky and beautiful. There is some tiny brassing on the cap band mostly visible only with magnification. The lever sticks out just a little bit from the body. Despite those flaws, this pen looks brand new upon first glance. The 14kt. two-tone Eversharp #3 adjustable nib is superb. It writes as a butter smooth F, and it has flexibility nearing the wet noodle class. It has a range of 0.4mm to 2.3mm! A beautiful, fantastic little pen.

Waterman 52 – SUPER FLEX

IMG_5898

Waterman 52 – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

This is a Waterman 52 in decent condition. The cap has some spots that haves faded more significantly than others (for example around the lip of the cap). The body also has some fading, but it is still pretty black. Chasing on the cap is good, but it is more worn (though visible). Imprint on side is a little worn but also visible. The “52” still looks good. The nickel plated trim is in good shape. There is some wear if you look under magnification, but nothing serious. There is a spot of some kind of adhesive on the clip just under the pins. I didn’t want to risk damaging the surface of the clip in scraping it off. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is a super flex nib. The tipping, however, is worn low, but it is present. The nib writes as a wet, but not too wet, and smooth fine.

SIZE:  5 1/4″ Capped

Parker Vacumatic (Standard Size) (SOLD)

IMG_5899

Parker Vacumatic (Standard Size) (On Ebay)

Here is a Parker Vac in standard size. It’s in the silver pearl style and has single jewel on the cap. The silver trim does have some wear throughout it (see pics), but most of it you do not see unless you look very closely. Imprints are good. The body has very little scratching and looks and feels great. Barrel clarity is ok. It is a speed line filler. The 14kt. Parker arrow nib is a smooth writing XF with a bit of spring to it. The nib does have a slight crack on one side of the base, but it is located up under the section and not at all visible. It also does and will not affect the use of the pen. You would never have even known it was there if I didn’t tell you. There are few pens that feel as good in the hand as a Vac. They are pens that make you want to write something.

SIZE:  5″ Capped

NIB: Parker 14kt. “ArroW nib XF  (0.3mm)

FILLING: Vac Fill

CONDITION: Good

Restration Work:

  • Restored Vac filling system

Waterman 52 – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

IMG_5834

Waterman 52 – Wet Noodle  (See Price Here)

This Waterman 52 is made of BCHR and is in great condition. The BCHR is still quite black. The cap, which was and is a clipless version, looks near mint with crisp chasing and jet black color. The chasing on the body is more worn, though visible, and has faded a bit to a duller black. The side imprint is worn, though mostly readable. The “52” is very crisp with the red dye still present. The nickel plated lever is in good condition with only minimal plate loss. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is fantastic. It is a very juicy, smooth writing fine with enormous amounts of flex. If you don’t write softly, the tines will spread and ink and the nib will write more like a very wet Medium. The flex is very easy, though not a paintbrush, and goes all the way up to 2.8mm. It is rather responsive as well and makes for some big and crisp looking flex writing.

SIZE:  5 3/8″ Capped

NIB: Waterman #2, F to BBB (0.4mm-2.8mm),  WET NOODLE  (See “Grading Flex Nibs” for How I Grade)

Waterman 52 1/2 – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

IMG_5827

Waterma 52 1/2 – Wet Noodle   (On Ebay)

This Waterman 52 1/2 is made of BCHR that has faded to a dark brown. The chasing is also almost worn off entirely on the body, though still visible on the cap. The side imprint is worn, but readable. The “52 1/2” imprint is good. The nickel plated lever is good overall with only minor plate loss. There is also some scratching on the cap. The nib, however, is a fantastic Wet Noodle. This Waterman #2 Canadian nib is an XXF (0.2mm) that flexes all the way to 2.0mm. Flex is very easy. It isn’t quite a paintbrush, but it is very close to that feeling. The XXF makes for some great hairlines. The nib does require that you keep your hand from rolling while flexing, or you will see some railroading. If you use a good flexing ink like Pilot Iroshizuku, you will see very little railroading.

SIZE:  5 1/4″ Capped

NIB: Waterman #2, XXF to BBB (0.2mm-2.0mm)  WET NOODLE (See “Grading Flex Nibs” for How I Grade)

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline w/ Gold Derby – Super Flex! (SOLD)

IMG_5818

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex – (On Ebay) This is a beautiful Skyline in standard size. The barrel is black celluloid. The body, which is black, is in very good condition with only very light scratching. It’s been buffed and polished and looks great. The gold-filled derby looks great as does the rest of the cap. On the lip of the cap, there is one spot where the lip has been pushed in slightly (see pic). There are also a couple of very, very tiny dings in the cap. The 14kt. Eversharp nib is fantastic. It has a huge flex range going from a F (0.4mm) all the way up to 2.5mm. The flex is quite easy and quite responsive. The nib is very smooth and wet but not overly so. It’s a great writer with great flex. This Skyline looks and behaves superbly.

Conklin Endura -Good Flex (SOLD)

IMG_5821

Conklin Endura – Good Flex – (On Ebay)

This is a Conklin Endura with a Conklin Endura nib. It is in a brown and black pattern and made of some sort of early plastic. The brown flakes shimmer just a bit in the light. There is light scratching throughout the pen. The imprints are good. It has the personalization “C.E.M.” on the side of the barrel. There is plate loss on the top and bottom of the clip. There is also a little bit in spots on the cap band and a little at the bottom of the lever. The 14kt. “Endura” is a very juicy F that still writes with the characteristic “character” of a Conklin. It has a great flex range going all the way up to 2.0mm, but it’s just a bit too stiff to be called a super flex in my opinion. A great writing pen especially if you like them juicy.

SIZE:  4 7/8″ Capped

NIB:  Conklin Endura, F to BBB (0.4mm-2.0mm) GOOD FLEX (See “Grading Flex Nibs” for How I Grade)
