Waterman 52 Wood Grain – Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 52 Wood Grain – Super Flex (On Ebay)

Here is a nice Waterman 52 in red mottled or “wood grain” hard rubber. The color of the hard rubber is pretty good with some fading. The imprints are still decent. The side barrel imprint is a little worn but readable. The rest are very good. The gold-filled cap band does have some brassing on the top edge as does the ball on the clip. The lever looks very good. The cap of this pen, though matching and threading well, is likely not the original as it is just a 1mm or so short of the original, as can be seen by the slight fade line. Still, you would not notice unless you looked close. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a wet and buttery smooth F. A phenomenal writer if you like wet nibs. The flex on this was a little difficult to grade. The range is great going from F (0.4mm) to BBB (1.7mm) and responsiveness is also very good for so wet a nib, but ease of flex is decent but not amazing. Still, I deemed it good enough to grade as a “super flex” but it is on the lower end. Overall, a fantastic writer with some nice flex in a beautiful Waterman model.
