Waterman 14 S.F. – Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 14 S.F. – Super Flex (On Ebay)

Here is a rare Waterman 14 S.F. (Sleeve Filler) in black hard rubber (smooth with no original chasing). For this model you slide up the sleeve on the barrel to expose of pressure bar that you depress with your thumb to fill the sac with ink. The pen’s hard rubber has faded to a dark brown, and the imprints are worn but readable with some texture remaining to them. The nickel clip is in great condition with no signs of brassing. The internal filling bar is in good condition. It has some wear from being inside a pen for a 100 years, but I’ve cleaned it up. The lip of the cap is really the only major flaw. First, there is a chip in the lip. It isn’t a very wide chip, but it is long enough that it covers about a third of the lip edge. Also, there is a very small crack under the clip running through the lip edge (see pic). It looks to be plenty stable though. The 14kt. Waterman #4 is a lovely writing XF. It writes quite smoothly and has a good flow to it. It is wet enough to allow for some nice shading. The nib also has some nice flex going quite easily from 0.3mm to BBB (1.7mm). The XF nib also allows for some nice responsive and snappy flex action. Overall, a rare pen with some great qualities.
