Waterman 52 – Super Flex (On Ebay)
This is a handsome Waterman 52 in “Cardinal Red” hard rubber. The cardinal red hard rubber is one of the more rare and collectible types of pens Waterman made. The pen is in overall good condition, but it does have a small crack just above the clip. The crack seems to be quite stable unless someone really yanks on the clip. There is some brassing on parts of the lever, on a few spots on the band, and on the ball of the clip. The side imprint is almost completely worn away, and the “52” on the back of the barrel is also worn though readable. The Waterman #2 14kt. nib is a nice and smooth writing XF. A great everyday writing nib in my opinion. It has pretty good ease of flex and a very good range going up to 2.1mm. It does lack superior responsiveness, but much of that is compensated by it being an XF nib. Overall it’s a lovely, collectible pen that is both a nice daily writer and a good flex pen.
