Wahl Gold Filled w/ Clip – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

Wahl Gold Filled W/ Clip – Wet Noodle (On Ebay)

Here is a lovely Wahl gold-filled pen of a ring top size only this has the clip rather than the ring top. The pen looks quite nice, but it does show some brassing. Particularly, there is brassing on the end of the barrel, and on the bottom and top edge of the cap. There is also some on the lever and clip, though it is much less noticeable. Has the personalization “Howard Bond” inscribed in print. The 14kt. #2 Wahl nib is ultra easy to flex. Writing with it take a light touch or you will end up flexing it accidentally. It is so soft, in fact, that it can be a bit difficult to control. Writes normally as a F with good flow. Not too wet or too dry, and with a bit of feedback. It flexes from 0.4mm to 1.9mm (F-BBB). Great pen.

Waterman 12 – SUPER FLEX (SOLD)

IMG_6820

Waterman 12 Eye Dropper – SUPER FLEX  (On Ebay)

Here is a Waterman 12 Eyedropper with patent dates of 1889 and 1903. It is in very good condition. The BCHR is still quite black. In fact, it is black and not brown. It’s just a bit duller than original. The chasing as also faded and rubbed smooth, although still visible. Imprints are a little worn, but are still very readable. The clip is in good condition with only light plate loss (mostly visible only by magnification). The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a soft, flexy nib. Unfortunately, most of the iridium has been worn off. Only a very thin layer is left. Having said that, it is a very smooth medium and really writes like a stub. The flex is great going quite easily up to 2.2mm with good responsiveness. And as an eyedropper, the flow is definitely going to keep up.

SIZE:  5 1/4″ Capped

Parker Lady Lucky Curve – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

IMG_6747

Parker Lucky Curve – Wet Noodle

Here is a pretty little Parker Lucky Curve pen in “true blue.” The pen is in overall good condition. It’s a vest size pen. The true blue coloring is faded some but is still very pretty. There is some kind of nick in the side of the barrel and a similar on the cap (see pics). The gold filled trim is in good condition with minimal brassing. The 14kt. Lucky Curve nib is a great little flex nib with a range of 0.4mm to 2.3mm. This is not a paintbrush nib, but ease of flex is still very good. It has quite good responsive and control. It also writes well as a nice wet fine nib. FOR PRICE SEE HERE

Waterman 52V – SUPER FLEX (SOLD)

IMG_6746

Waterman 52V – SUPER FLEX (On Ebay)

Here a nice Waterman 52V in BCHR. The hard rubber is still very dark though faded a little to a duller black. The chasing is worn some but still has some texture. The imprints are very crisp. The cap is missing the original clip. The nickel plated lever has minimal plate loss. The 14kt. #2 Waterman nib on this pen is a fabulous flex nib. It writes as an XXF and has pretty easy flex up to 1.9mm. It takes little just a little pressure to get the pen to write thicker if you wish. The ease of flex, good responsiveness, and XXF nib make for some great flex writing.

Waterman Grey Pearl Pen & Pencil Combo – Super Flex (SOLD)

IMG_6741

Waterman Grey Pearl Pen & Pencil Combo – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is a pretty little Waterman Grey Pearl Pen and Pencil Combo dating from the 40s. The grey pearl plastic is very lovely, shimmering celluloid body. There are several spots on the celluloid, perhaps due to an over zealous buffing wheel. I tried to capture them in a pic. You don’t see them due to the pattern, but looking closer you can see several. The gold trim on the pen is in great condition with little to no brassing. There is plate loss on the pencil section as well as the to of the cap. The pencil appears to still be in working condition. The 14kt. #2 Waterman nib is a wet and ultra smooth F that has some good flex up to 2.0mm.  Nice little and pretty little set.

Parker Vacumatic – Super Flex (SOLD)

IMG_6744

Parker Vacumatic –  SUPER FLEX (On Ebay)

Here is a Silver Pearl Parker Vacumatic with single jewel and in Debutante size. It is a postwar filler. It is a rare Vacumatic with a very flexible nib. The pen is in fair condition. The silver trim shows a good amount of wear on both the clip and the cap band. Barrel clarity is decent. There are teeth marks on the blind cap. The 14kt. Parker “arrow” nib is a very wet B (measures more in the Medium range, but feels like a broad). The flex on this nib is very easy. In fact, the nib is so malleable that if you over flex (which isn’t hard to do with this nib), the tines will go out of alignment. It takes some care in using it, but it still has great flex range up to 2.2mm.

SIZE:  4 9/16″ Capped

NIB: Parker Vac, B to BBB (0.7mm-2.2mm),  SUPER FLEX (See “Grading Flex Nibs” for How I Grade)

  • Nib and feed ultrasonically cleaned

Waterman 54 – Good Flex (SOLD)

IMG_6745

Waterma 54 – Good Flex (On Ebay)

Here is a Waterman 54 in moderate condition. The chasing is worn, though still visible in spots. Imprints are worn but readable. The hard rubber has faded to a dark brown. It has an accommodation clip that has a decent amount of wear. The nickel plated lever is in good condition, though there is some wear on the sides of the lever box. There is also a chip out of the bottom lip of the cap (see pic). The 14kt. Waterman nib on this pen is actually a #5 (should be a #4). It later #5 from probably the 40s or so (the body likely dates to the 20s). Nevertheless, the nib works great in the pen. It is a fabulously smooth XF with good flow. It has a great flex range going from 0.3mm to 2.0mm, but ease of flex borders right between good and super.

SIZE:  5 3/8″ Capped

NIB: Waterman #5, XF – BBB (0.3mm-2.0mm), GOOD/ SUPER FLEX (See “Grading Flex Nibs” for How I Grade)

FILLING: Lever

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Medium Flex (SOLD)

IMG_6742

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Medium Flex – (On Ebay) Here is a beautiful Wahl Eversharp Skyline in brown with gold filled trim. This is a standard Skyline in overall good condition. The plastic has some light scratching throughout the body. I have buffed and polished a lot of it out, but there is still some there. There is some plate wear on the edges of the lever. The clip has some scratching but has minimal brassing. The 14kt. Eversharp nib is a smooth and wet XF. It has decent flex range up to 1.7mm, but it is a bit too stiff to be graded higher than Medium Flex.

SIZE:  5 1/4″ Capped

Waterman Ink Vue with Music Nib – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

 IMG_6676

Waterman Emerald Ray Ink Vue with Music Nib – Wet Noodle

Here is a very special pen. It’s a fantastic Waterman Emerald Ray Ink Vue Pen with a New Old Stock Waterman Music Nib. The pen itself is in very good condition. It has great color. Very little scratching. Imprints are good, and just look at that barrel clarity! There is one spot of brassing on the edge of the clip. Actually, more of a nick than brassing. Also the very thin gold filled band on the top of the cap is partially missing (see pic), and the identical band on the bottom of the barrel is loose. Otherwise, the trim is in great condition.  And then, of course, there is the nib. This nib by itself is worth several hundred. It’s in mint, never before used condition. It writes as a wet 0.9mm italic (that’s line width and not nib width). It has nice line variation. It’s more cursive italic than stub, I would say. Certainly not a crisp italic, though. It just glides across the page. It has a huge flex going up to BBBB (3.1mm). This pen uses a lot of ink very fast, so it really takes a good, lubby ink to take advantage of the full flex potential of this pen. I’ll send along a sample of such ink so you can hit the ground running. This may be your grail pen. See Price Here.

SIZE:  5″ Capped

NIB: Waterman #5 Music, Medium Italic to BBBB (0.9mm-3.1mm),  WET NOODLE  (See “Grading Flex Nibs” for How I Grade)

Vintage Gold-Filled Repousse Eyedropper – Wet Noodle

IMG_6674

Vintage Gold-Filled Repousse Eyedropper– Wet Noodle

Not all vintage pens need to have a well-known maker to be fine pens. This is an excellent, unbranded eyedropper with intricate repousse exterior. This pen was likely made sometime between the 1890s and 1910s. It is very similar to an Aiken Lambert or John Hollad pen of the same era. It could perhaps even have been made by one of these companies. The pen is in near mint condition. It’s hard to believe that a hundred plus year old pen could look this nice. The black hard rubber is still jet black, shiny and smooth. There is no brassing on the pen. Indeed the only faulty I can find is a small ding in the barrel where in area blanked for personalization (of which this pen has none.) And the Warranted 14kt. nib on this pen is superb. It’s a wet F (0.4mm) that is a very soft wet noodle. This nib almost feels like a paintbrush. It writes more like a very soft and smooth Medium normally due to the fact that it is hard to write normally without flexing it a little bit. It flexes up 2.2mm and is quite responsive. This is a superb vintage pen. See Here For Price
