Waterman 32 – GOOD FLEX (SOLD)

IMG_4350

Waterman 52 – Good Flex  (On Ebay)

This Waterman 32 is in fair condition. The black celluloid was quite scratched when I got it. Nothing deep, but lots of surface scratches. I have buffed and polished out quite a bit of it, but it still has light scratching throughout. The original clip fell off at some point, and the original rivets are still in the cap. However, at some point someone put on a Rexall accommodation clip. That clip is worn down almost entirely to the brass. There is wear on the lever also. The name “R. Ludeman” is engraved in the side. The nib is a bit unique in that while it has a good, fairly crisp flex, it also feels quite firm when writing normally. That makes small, detailed writing very easy.

Waterman 52 – MEDIUM FLEX (SOLD)

IMG_4306

Waterman 52 – Medium Flex  (On Ebay)

This is a BCHR Waterman 52. There is browning to the hard rubber. The chasing and imprints are still visible, though worn. There is a crack in the cap that has been partially resealed (see pics). There is some wear to the nickel on the clip and lever. The nib is quite smooth both in normal writing and flexing. The flex has the ease of a “good flex” but the snap back isn’t quite good enough to be called a good flex. Still it is a great nib.

Waterman 52 – Stub/ Semi-flex (SOLD)

IMG_4347

Waterman 52 – Stub/ Semi-flex  (On Ebay)

This 52 in good condition. The chasing is worn but is still visible. The hard rubber has browned to a dark brown. Side imprint is worn but mostly readable. The “52” is crisp and still red. There is some plate wear on the lever also. This is and was originally produced as a clip less model. The nib is a nice, smooth writing stub. Crisp enough to give writing some character, but smooth enough to be able to write pretty fast. Thought the nib is soft and smooth, it is on the drier side.

Waterman 52 1/2V – SUPER FLEX (SOLD)

IMG_4198

Waterman 52 1/2V  – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

Here is a smooth (no original chasing) hard rubber 52 1/2V. The hard rubber is a chocolate brown, which though obviously not original, looks pretty nice with the gold trim. The trim is in great condition with no brassing that I could see. Imprints are worn but readable. The nib is a nice, soft Fine with easy super flex ability. My favorite part of this pen is the feed. It is adjusted just right for good flow, but it is not overly wet and thus maximizes shading. The F nib is extremely smooth.

Waterman 52 – GOOD FLEX! (SOLD)

IMG_4232

Waterman 52 – Good Flex  (On Ebay)

This is a Waterman 52 in decent condition. There is some browning of the hard rubber, but it’s still pretty dark. The chasing and imprints are worn but still have a little texture. Imprints are crisp. The lever looks brand new. It has a unique accommodation clip. It appears to have had a Waterman clip at one point, but was replaced by this clip. But there are no chips or cracks anywhere on the pen. The nib is nice and smooth with good flex. It has super flex ease and range but not good enough responsiveness.

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Medium Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is another gorgeous Skyline in the Standard size. It is a green body with gold trim. The pen is in great condition. Body is in great shape. Gold trim is also near perfect with just a bit of brassing on the lever. The pen almost looks new. The nib is a typical nice writing Eversharp Fine with Medium flex. You won’t be disappointed with this one.

Conklin Crescent – Super Flex (SOLD)

IMG_4186

Conklin Crescent – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is the classic Conklin Crescent pen. No pen collection would be complete without this iconic pen. This pen is in quite good condition. There is some browning of the hard rubber, but still pretty dark. The chasing is a bit worn on the body, but quite crisp on the cap. Imprints have some wear, though mostly readable. The gold crescent and spring clip are in very good condition. And the locking ring is present with no cracks. The pen has a Conklin #2 Toledo nib. The flex is good. It is a bit stiff for super flex, bit it has such fine hairlines that it makes good flex writing nice and crisp. So I graded it super flex. Free Gift: From now until Christmas, everyone one of my buyers gets a free 2ml sample of Pilot Iroshizuku ink!

Conklin Endura – Semi Flex (SOLD)

IMG_4199

Conklin Endura – Semi Flex – (On Ebay)

Had to recruit some help to identify this one. It is an uncommon Conklin Endura likely produced shortly after the move to Chicago in 1938. This was probably one of the last decent quality pens produced by Conklin before things really took a down turn. The pen feels solid and well made. It still has the quality “spring clip” on the cap. The gold filled trim on the pen is all in great condition. The nib does not have the Conklin name, but I’m told that it was probably still original to this pen. It’s a decent, smooth writing Fine. Overall, the pen is in superb condition. Free Gift: From now until Christmas, everyone one of my buyers gets a free 2ml sample of Pilot Iroshizuku ink!

Conklin Glider – Medium Flex (SOLD)

IMG_4248

Conklin Glider – Medium Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is the third Conklin Glider I’ve offered in two weeks. These pens are from the 1930s. They were considered budget pens of the time, but were well made and quite durable. This pen is in decent condition. The celluloid is still quite attractive. The gold filled band looks good. The clip and lever appear to be nickel plated or chrome. In any case, they are silver and have some plating. This pen is fitted with a Conklin Chicago 14k nib, which has some flex and is a smooth and soft writer. Free Gift: From now until Christmas, everyone one of my buyers gets a free 2ml sample of Pilot Iroshizuku ink!

Wahl-Eversharp Doric – Good Flex (SOLD)

IMG_4121

Wahl-Eversharp Doric – Good Flex – (On Ebay)

This is a black Wahl-Eversharp Doric with a #7 “Adjustable” nib. These pens are gorgeous in person. They feel heavier and more solid than the average celluloid pen and are clearly a high end pen. The pen is a plunger filler with a semi-transparent barrel. There appears to have been a cut in the cap that someone filled. I smoothed out the filler, but you can still see evidence of the repair (see pic). There is some light scratching throughout the pen. But the gold filled trim is in fantastic shape. I replaced the seal on the plunger. The seal on the back of the barrel seemed to be working, so I did not replace it. This Doric is fitted with a #7 “Adjustable” nib. You push the slider back on the nib to flex and move it forward for normal writing. Flow also adjust accordingly. The flex on this pen is very wet with good variation, although the ease of flex and responsiveness are not quite up to Super flex standards. A gorgeous pen. Free Gift: From now until Christmas, everyone one of my buyers gets a free 2ml sample of Pilot Iroshizuku ink!

SIZE:  4 15/16″ Capped
