Waterman 0552 – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

Here is the iconic Waterman 52 in a gold-filled overlay (thus the “05” prefix). This gold-filled overlay does show some use. Nothing major, just little stuff. There are some small dings on the top lip of the cap, which is pretty common, and some very tiny ones here and there. There is also quite a bit of light scratching throughout the pen. To me it looks well cared for but pretty heavily used. There is some brassing on the lower part of the cap and top of the lever. If you are looking for a collector’s item, then I’d say pass. If you are looking for a well-fortified 52 ready for every day use, then it’s perfect. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is a wet F (0.4mm) that flexes nicely up to BBB+ (1.8mm). Normal writing is very smooth with some nice character. Flex is plenty wet, comes pretty easy, and is pretty responsive. It’s a great all-around nib ready for just about any writing task.
