Omas Extra Brevetto 556/S – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

Omas 556/S Brevetto – Wet Noodle (See Price Here)

Here is a first rate Omas pen from the 1950s. It’s the 556/S Brevetto. A full size pen in high quality black celluloid and gold-filled trim. These pens are light and beautifully balanced with top notch trim packages and some of the best nibs ever made. This pen is in very nice condition. The gold-filled trim looks great with no brassing. The body is also in nice condition. Shiny with even minimal surface scratching from use. There is one very small scuff on the barrel near the cap that I like came from someone using a buffer on it. It’s very hard to see and doesn’t show up in photos. Imprints look good. Maybe slightly worn but still very readable. The 14kt. (585) Omas “Extra Lucens” nib is a wonder. Normal writing is XXF (0.2mm) that is surprisingly smooth for such a fine nib. The nib is also a fabulous wet noodle with an astonishing range going from 0.2mm to 1.9mm (BBB++)!! Responsiveness or snap back is also superb. This is a first rate Omas with a first rate and ultra desirable XXF wet noodle. This won’t last long.

Waterman 13 Red Mottled – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

Waterman 13 Red Mottled – Wet Noodle  (See Price Here)

Here is a beautiful and uncommon Waterman eye dropper. It’s a 13 with a #3 size nib in red mottled hard rubber. The pen is great condition. There is some fading to the hard rubber but it still has pretty good color. Imprints are fantastic. About as crisp as the original. The nickel-filled clip is also in great condition. This pen has not been used much. As great as this model is the 14kt. Waterman #3 nib may even be more desirable. It’s a wet Fine (0.4mm) that writes butter smooth with a stub like line variation. It adds some nice character to your normal writing. And to top it off it is also a wonderful wet noodle flex nib. This isn’t quite paintbrush soft, but it is still very soft. It has a great range going from 0.4mm to BBB (1.7mm) with some nice responsiveness. The feed has no issues keeping up. Overall, this is a beautiful and quite rare pen in very nice condition that also offers a nib that is both an amazing writer and a wet noodle. What more could you ask for?

Waterman 12 – Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 12 – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

Here is a Waterman 12 in BCHR. Next to the 52, there is probably no other pen that best embodies what a vintage Waterman offers. The BCHR on this pen is faded some to a dark brown. The chasing is still very nice and crisp throughout the pen. Imprints are also fantastic. There are some very, very light teeth marks on the top of the cap and end of the barrel. You wouldn’t see them unless you look closely. There is also a very small chip in the end of the barrel. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is the kind of wonderful nib that Waterman is known for. It’s a lovely writing XF that feels more like an XXF than a F. It’s pretty smooth for how fine it is. It also has some easy flex that ranges up to BBB (1.6mm) with some nice snap back. It’s a hundred plus year Waterman eyedropper with a super flex nib in good condition.

Conklin Crescent Gold Filigree Ring Top – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

Conklin Crescent Gold Filigree Ring Top – Wet Noodle  – (On Ebay)

Here is a gorgeous Conklin Crescent with a gold-filled filigree overlay in a vest pen / ring top size. In size this is about half way between a Waterman 52 1/2V and a Waterman 52V. The body is in fantastic condition with little to no signs of wear. Certainly no brassing. No fading to the hard rubber. Has the initials “MC” on the cap. The body is really in superb condition. The 14kt. Made in Toledo Conklin #2 is a very wet writing F that like a lot of Conklin’s of this era has a bit of a stub-like character to it. There is some kind of tarnish on the gold nib that I can’t seem to polish off. It takes the right light to see it, but there is a slight color variation on a couple of places on the nib. Writing for this nib is lovely, wet, and smooth. It also has wonderful flex that I’m grading as a low grade wet noodle. This isn’t paintbrush soft, but flex comes very easy. It has a nice range going up to a large BBB (1.8mm). Responsiveness is pretty decent as well. Overall, a gorgeous Conklin that is both a beautiful writer and is capable of lovely flex work.

SIZE:  4 3/8″ Capped

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex (SOLD)

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is a nice Skyline in the army brown body with a gold-filled cap.The body has only surface marks from normal use for the most part. There are some small deeper scratches on the derby (see pics). There are just a few tiny marks on the gold-filled cap sleeve but nothing major or obvious. There is no brassing on it or the clip. There is a little bit of plate loss on the crown of the lever from the cap being posted. The 14kt. Eversharp nib is a wonderful Fine. It writes a lovely wet and smooth line that just feels like a what a nib should fee like. The flex on this is also wonderful going easily to BBB (1.7mm) with plenty of ink flow to keep up. The responsiveness is also really solid. Overall, a superb Skyline.

Waterman 52 1/2 V – Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 52 1/2 V – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

This Waterman 52 1/2V has some fading in the BCHR. The chasing still looks pretty good with decent texture but it has faded to a dark brown. The imprints look good. The nickel trim is in good condition with no brassing. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a wet writing F (0.4mm) with just a hint of feedback, though it’s still quite smooth. It has some really nice flex going easily up to BBB (1.6mm). The nib does have two very small cracks coming out of each of the breather hole. If you take good care of this nib and don’t over flex, the cracks should not grow. I’ve personally had a wet noodle nib with two cracks in the same places for over 6 years that I use everyday, and there has been no growth in them. If you are looking for a nice vintage flex nib for an affordable price, here is your chance.
