Vintage Gold-Filled Repousse Eyedropper – Super Flex (On Ebay)
Here is stunning quality eyedropper likely from somewhere between 1890s and 1910s. It is covered with a beautiful gold-filled repousse overlay. The overlay is in overall very good condition. The top of the cap is a bit dinged up due to the fact that someone attempted to etch the initials “G.I.B.” with a needle (see pic), and there are a couple slight dings on the space meant for personalization (though there is no personalization). The black hard rubber is still quite black. There are a few small teeth marks on the section as well. The nib is a 14kt. Aikin Lambert, which probably wasn’t original but is likely from a similar pen from the same era (only made by Aikin Lambert of course). It is a soft and wet writing F (0.4m) that flexes quite easily to BB (1.6mm). This is a great example of the beautiful artwork on some of these early eyedroppers.
