Waterman 52 1/2V – Super Flex (On Ebay)
Here is a really nice Waterman 52 1/2 V. These pens are sometimes mistakenly thought of as “ladies pens,” but in reality the V stands for vest pen and were meant to be portable pens that were short but became full size when posted. The BCHR has faded to a brown, but the imprints are very clean and crisp and the chasing still has good texture to it. The gold-filled trim on this is in nice condition with no brassing. The lever is especially clean and minty looking. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a wet F (0.4mm). It does appear to have gotten a little banged up at one point as it has a fews slight bumps. But that hasn’t affected it’s performance. It actually has near wet noodle ease of flex. It is right on the border between a wet noodle and super flex. If the range of flex were a bit better, I’d probably have graded it “wet noodle.” Still a very excellent flex nib with zero flow issues in my testing. It only railroaded when it ran out of ink. Responsiveness is quite good. A great little vintage flex pen.
