Waterman Canadian Dauntless – Super Flex – (On Ebay)
This is a Canadian made Waterman. It is the more affordable version of the Stalwart known as the Dauntless. The pen is made of the grey pearl celluloid. There is just a bit of darkening of the body toward the front of the pen. The chrome trim shows a bit of wear mostly on the clip. The lever sticks out just a bit from the body. This lever is a held in by a spring much like an Esterbrook rather than the traditional Waterman lever box. The thin gold filled band around the cap looks great as do the imprints. The Waterman #2 14kt. nib is a very wet writing F that is smooth with just a little feedback. The nib does have about a 1mm crack coming out from the vent hole to the right of the nib (the right from backside). I have had the pen for a couple of months and the crack seems pretty stable. It is a very soft, super flex nib. It has great ease of flex. Just don’t push it to the limit and this nib will still last a good long time.
