Waterman 52V Cardinal Red – SUPER FLEX (On Ebay)
Here is a rare and gorgeous Waterman 52V in Cardinal Red with superb gold-filled trim. The Cardinal Red (I know, it’s orange!) is one of the rarer styles of these Waterman pens. Even more so that the Red Ripples. The pen is in good condition overall. This type of hard rubber is prone to staining from dirt and ink sitting on it for decades. There are a few small spots that have some very light staining. There is also some darkening on the barrel and section that is under the cap, which is from the dirt and ink that sat inside the cap. The side imprint is almost worn entirely off, but the 52V on the back is still crisp. But overall, this pen looks great. The gold filled clip, thick band, and lever have no brassing that I can find and look fantastic. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is very glassy smooth writing F (0.4mm) and has good flex up to 2.0mm that comes with pretty easy. A fantastic, very collectible pen.
