Waterman 52 (Italic Nib) – Medium Flex  (On Ebay)

The BCHR on this Waterman 52 has faded to a brown as you can see. The chasing is worn but visible. Imprints are pretty decent. The lever is in good condition, but the box around it has some plate loss. It is also missing the clip on the cap, and there are some light marks on the top of the cap (possible bite marks). The 14kt. Waterman #2 italic nib is fantastic. Quite crisp for how fine it is but still pretty smooth. The feed is plenty wet, and the nib flexes nicely up 1.4mm. A great writing pen that will really add character to your writing.

Wahl Silver & Gold Ring Top – Super Flex (On Ebay)

Here is a gorgeous two tone Wahl ring top. The gold/siver two tone look is stunning. Overall, the pen is in very good condition with one exception. The ring top is missing from the pen (see pic). Otherwise, the pen is beautiful. I found one little ding under the lever, but that is about it. There is not a lot of wear to the gold and silver throughout. The Wahl #2 nib is a smooth XF with super flex ability. It is quite responsive and goes quite easily up to 1.7mm. Gorgeous little pen.

Waterman 52 1/2V Cardinal Red – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

This is a nice little Waterman 52 1/2 V in Cardinal Red hard rubber. The red hard rubber is fairly rare in Waterman’s, and these pens have quite a retro look about them. This pen is in pretty good condition. Imprints are worn but you can see them. The gold-filled trim is in very good condition with little to no brassing that I can find. The nib is a nice wet, soft, and very smooth fine that flexes up 1.8mm. A very pretty Waterman with super flex ability.

Eggens-Hambler Co. Ring Top – Good Flex

Here is an Eggens-Hambler black chased hard rubber ring top pen. Eggens and Hambler were previously employed by L.E. Waterman and produced pens of intermediate quality. This pen is in pretty good condition. It is still very black with little fading. The chasing and imprints are crisp. The gold filled trim is in good condition with only moderate brassing in places. The 14kt. nib is not original to the pen, though it fits well. The iridium is worn, but it is still present. The flex is quite easy with a good range. It just lacks the responsive needed to be a super flex. The nib is quite wet. You won’t be railroading with this pen.

Waterman 52V – SUPER FLEX (On Ebay)

Here a nice Waterman 52V in red mottled hard rubber. The hard rubber is faded somewhat. The clip also has a bit of a kink in it. Otherwise, the gold filled trim is in great condition with little to no brassing present. The imprints are good. The Waterman #2 was recently retipped by Greg Minuskin. The nib writes very wet and very, very smooth. It has wet noodle range and ease of flex. The only reason this isn’t a full fledged noodle in my opinion is that some inks do not keep up well with the flexing. As you can see, the Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-Gaki had no problem. I’ll be sending along a free sample of a Pilot Iro ink with this pen just to make sure you hit the ground running.

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is another very lovely Skyline. It’s standard size made of black celluloid with a gold filled cap and trim. There are some very tiny dings here and there in the cap. There is also some light scratching on the body, but I have buffed and polished much of it out. The lever also does have some plate loss (see pic). The nib is a F (sorry about the mess up on the picture) and writes smoothly and not overly wet. The flex is great and pretty easy to control. It’s a super flex nib that goes up 1.9mm and has a feed that keeps up well.

Wahl Gold Filled Ring Top – Good Flex (On Ebay)

Here is a pretty little Wahl Gold Filled Ring Top. It is in excellent condition. There is a tiny bit of brassing at the end of the barrel, but that is all. There is also some light scratching from cap on the barrel. There is no monograming. The chasing pattern really makes the pen sparkle. The Wahl #2 14kt. nib is a smooth XXF. The flex is a bit too stiff and the feed not quite wet enough to be considered a super flex. Still a beautiful, portable, and durable little pen.

Sheaffer Ring Top Self Filling – Good Flex

This is a Sheaffer black chased hard rubber ring top pen. The chasing is in a checkered pattern and is still quite good. The hard rubber is faded a little to a lighter shade of black. Imprint is very crisp. The gold trim (band, lever, and ring) are all in good shape with little brassing. The Sheaffer 14kt. Self-Filling nib has super flex ease and range, but it just isn’t responsive enough to be a super flex. It is also a bit finicky about the angle of the nib on paper. Get off a little and it will railroad. The nib is pretty nice to write with. It could be a tad wetter. As is, it does have a slightly “chalky” feel to it if you know what I mean. Still a nice little pen.

Conway Stewart Red Mottled – SUPER FLEX – (On Ebay)

This is a Conway Stewart model No. 470M, also called the “Universal Pen.” It’s a red mottled hard rubber pen. It’s similar size to a Waterman 52, maybe slightly fatter. and in pretty good shape. It was made between the late 20s and 30s. The hard rubber has very slight fading. The imprints are worn are hard to read. The lever does have some brassing, and there is a scratch near the lever that is hard to see because of the mottled design. I really like the nib on this pen. It’s on the medium side of fine, but it is somewhat stubbish. It really does add some character to normal writing. Plus, it has nice super flex ability.

Waterma 52 1/2 – Super Flex   (On Ebay)

This Waterman 52 1/2 is made of BCHR and is in pretty decent condition. There are some spots where the black has faded a bit, but overall it is still pretty black. On the body the chasing is worn but visible, but much more crisp on the cap. Imprints are in good shape. The back “52 1/2” is especially crisp. The nickel plated lever is in good shape. Some plate loss on the box around the lever. The nib is superb. It is a nice, smooth XF 14 kt. Waterman #2 with easy, smooth super flex ability, and it has some nice responsiveness. A great pen.
