Waterman 403 – Super Flex
Here is a lovely Waterman 403 meaning that it is Waterman 3, the later version of the 52, with a sterling silver overlay. In this case, the overlay is a nice filigree design. Overall, the pen is in pretty good shape. There are just a few very small marks and scratches on the silver here and there from normal use, but nothing major of obvious. There are 3 teeth marks on the end of the barrel and some light scratching as well. The clip and lever are in good shape, and there is no personalization. The 14tk. Waterman #2 nib is a smooth XF/XXF. Depending on the ink it writes normally with a 0.25mm to 0.3mm line, and it is just surprisingly soft and silky for so fine a nib. The flex on the pen is also very nice. It ranges up to BB (1.3mm), which is decent. Ease of flex is decent, but it has a really nice snap back that sets it into the “super flex” category. Overall, great, durable, vintage pen with a superb nib.
