Mabie Todd Swan Ring Top – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is a great made in New York Mabie Todd ring top in black celluloid with a green cracked ice pattern. The body of the pen is in nice shape with only minor scratching from normal use. There is one small mark (a little indentation) right above the bands on the cap. The light has to be right to see it. The “cracked ice” pattern has discolored in some places on the pen. The gold-filled bands are in good condition with some minor brassing on some of the edges. The lever has a lot more brassing and some light pitting.  Imprints are good and crisp. The 14kt. Swan nib is a wet and pretty smooth F that really looks and feels like a stub. It adds some really nice character to your normal writing. The flex comes beautifully with great range going from F (0.4mm) to BBB (1.7mm). Responsiveness is quite good as well. Overall, a great vintage ring top.
