Mabie Todd Swan #3230 – Super Flex – (On Ebay)
This made in England Swan lever-filler comes in a dark gray celluloid with gold-filled trim. The body has darkened some especially on the body. There is a small indentation on the barrel from what was likely an over zealous buffing. The gold-filled trim has some light brassing along the sides of the lever, at the crown of the clip, and on the edges of the bands. Imprints are mostly good and crisp. There is a little wear at the very bottom of the side barrel imprint. The 14kt. Swan nib is a beauty. It’s a buttery, wet XF (0.3mm). It’s probably going to feel more like a F on less absorbent papers. The flex is very good. It comes quite easily and has a nice range going from XF – BBB (1.7mm). This is a pen that feels great in the hand with a fantastic vintage nib that is superb writer and adds the great bonus of good flex.
