Waterman 0352 – Super Flex / Wet Noodle

Waterman 0352 – Super Flex / Wet Noodle  (On Ebay)

Here is a Waterman 52 with a gold-filled overlay over the barrel (thus the “03” numbering). The hard rubber on this pen is in very good condition. It is originally smooth with no chasing. It is faded very little and is still quite dark, nearly black. The original clip is missing, but there are no cracks. The overlay also looks quite good. Some very light scratching throughout from normal use. There are also a couple of very light scuffs but nothing major. The lever has a few tiny spots of brassing. There is an imprint that reads as follows: line 1 “Craftsman,” line 2 “To,” line 3, “H.A. Sackett,” line 4 “1919.” The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a superb nib. Unfortunately, it does have a very small crack going out of the breather hole on the right side (looking from the section/ barrel down). The nib writes normally as a wet and smooth XF (0.3mm) and has some lovely flex going up to BBB (1.6mm). This is a high end super flex. Not quite a wet noodle, but very close. It’s somewhere between what I normally grade “super flex” and what I would grade “wet noodle.” The crack appears to be stable. I use flex nibs with such cracks frequently, and so long as you don’t push them the cracks don’t grow. Overall, a nice Waterman.
