Waterman 52 1/2 Red Ripple – Super Flex (On Ebay)
Here is a 52 1/2 V in Waterman’s lovely Red Ripple hard rubber. The red ripple hard rubber is only slightly faded and still has a lot of good color to it. The imprints on this are very crisp. Almost new looking. The gold-filled trim looks beautiful as well. There is one tiny tiny little dent on the lever box, but otherwise it’s about as good as you could wish for. No brassing whatsoever. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is rare one. It’s a XXXF (0.1mm!). With a light ink it’s almost illegible it’s so fine. But that also means this is a great nib for hairlines! The flex range on this isn’t massive only going up to 1.2mm, but with an XXXF starting point it hardly needs any swell to do some nice flex work. I graded it somewhere between a good and super flex mainly because it doesn’t have very large swells, but the flex comes easily enough and that XXXF tip makes is very responsive. It’s pretty smooth for so fine a nib. It’s a very unique find and will make someone very happy.
