Here is a Waterman 52 in BCHR that is in great condition. The BCHR is only faded a little, but is still mostly black. There is some wear to the chasing, but it still is obvious and it still has texture. The nickel-filled trim is also in great condition. The lever does have some very small and light scuff marks that you can see on close examination, and the IDEAL on the lever is a bit worn. Imprints are very crisp and easily readable including those on the end of the barrel. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is a beauty. It is a very nice, soft writing XF. It is quite fine. Probably a bit finer than 0.3mm, but the wetness of the nib may make it feel closer to 0.3mm. The flex on this nib is also lovely. It flexes very easily up to BBB. Ease of flex is right on the border between Super Flex and Wet Noodle. I would grade it closer to Super Flex. Additionally, the nib has some great responsiveness and good flow. Overall, a superb vintage Waterman.
