Wahl-Eversharp Doric (“Signature” nib) – Super Flex (SOLD)

Wahl-Eversharp Doric (“Signature” nib) – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

The Doric’s were the top luxury pen in the Wahl-Eversharp line up. There is just no skimping on the materials for these beauties. This Doric is of the 1st Generation. The cap is free from the lip cracks typical of these 1st generation models. However, the 1st generation plastics are very susceptible to “crazing,” and the the top of the cap has started to develop some crazing including a crack that started to develop. Apart from that unfortunate blemish, the bronze and green material of this pen is simply stunning. Pictures don’t do it justice. There is no brassing on the gold-filled trim. There is scratch on bottom of the lever that you can see in certain light, but it’s a surface mark. The “Signature” nib was meant to be a balance of smooth, everyday writing while adding the flair of flex. I’ve had “Signatures” that are barely semi-flex and at least one wet noodle. This is a “super flex.” Flex comes relatively easily, and though the range isn’t massive (F-BBB / 0.4mm-1.6mm), it is quite snappy and responsive. Normal writing is lovely. The F tip with plenty of iridium is soft and smooth and on the wetter side. This is a beautiful pen.
