Waterman 52 Wood Grain / Red Mottled – Super Flex (On Ebay)
Here is a Waterman 52 in wood grain / red mottled hard rubber (not a red ripple like the sample states. Sorry about that). I believe this 52 is from the European market as US versions do not have nickel trim and almost always have a clip and a band on the cap. This version is equipped with a quality nickel-filled Waterman accommodation clip. The hard rubber is still looking very nice with minimal fading. There is a faint live of fading apparent on the back where the cap was posted. Imprints are worn off, though the “52” is still readable. The accommodation clip is in excellent condition. In addition to the Waterman “Ideal” globe, it has the company “Silvrix” (a French company I believe) etched in the side. The nickel lever is also in very nice condition. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a fantastic writer. It is soft and very smooth and wet. I could write with it all day long. The flex on this is also very nice. It doesn’t have a huge range going from XF (0.3mm) to BB (1.6mm), but it does have some excellent bounce and responsiveness. This is a much rarer version of the 52 than it’s gold trimmed siblings. Great pen.
