Waterman 12 – Super Flex (On Ebay)
This is a nice Waterman 12 in BCHR. It’s an early 12. The imprints are on the cap (generally they are on the barrel) and the latest patent date is 1898 which would precede the Waterman’s later 1904 patent date. That dates this pen to sometime between 1898 and 1904. It’s in superb condition for it’s age. It has faded to a dark brownish color, but the chasing and imprints (even the “12” on the barrel end) appear about as crisp as original. This pen has seen a lot of action. The gold filled bands look to be in good condition as well. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is an early version which would match the dating of the pen. It’s a nice, smooth writing XF/ F (0.35mm) with medium wetness. It has some nice flex going up to 1.6mm. It has decant responsiveness. Overall, this is a very fine example a very old pen.
