Waterman 52V Red Ripple – Super Flex (On Ebay)
Here is a nice Waterman 52V in Red Ripple. The 52 is the vest pen version (thus “V”) of the 52. It’s same bulk as the 52 but shorter. Posted it’s meant to feel like a 52 unposted, and I think it succeeds. It’s one my favorite vintage Waterman sizes. The hard rubber is a bit faded, though not bad at all. The gold filled trim looks good with no brassing. There are some small impressions in the lever, but no plate wear. Imprints are faded and barely readable. It is missing the ring at the top. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a gorgeous wet writing XF (0.3mm) that has some nice wet flex going up to BBB (1.8mm). Normally, it writes wet and springy like many Waterman’s of this era. The flex comes pretty easy, has plenty of flow to keep up, and pretty decent responsivess. It’s a great all around pen in beautiful Red Ripple.
