Waterman 52 –WET NOODLE
Here a very nice Waterman 52 in BCHR with nickel plated trim. The pen is still quite black and has only browned slightly. The chasing is worn almost smooth on the barrel, though it is still visible. It does have a bit more texture on the cap. The imprints, though, are still quite good. The nickel plated trim are in excellent condition with very little wear on them. The real star of the pen is the 14kt. Waterman #2 nib. Unfortunately, the nib does have two very small (a mm or less) cracks coming out of each side of the breather hole. I have monitored the pen for several months now and the cracks appear quite stable. The nib is what I would classify as a Wet Noodle. It isn’t a paintbrush noodle, but it takes very little pressure to achieve line swells and it has superb responsiveness. It takes little effort to produce very nice flex writing. The nib writes normally as smooth and wet XF/F (0.35mm).
