Venus “President” Pen – SEMI FLEX (On Ebay)
The Venus pen company was part of the American Pencil Co. This pen dates likely from the 40s. The celluloid body is very similar to that of a Conklin Glider. It’s a beautiful pin stripe design and looks really nice in person. The gold-filled trim is in good condition. Maybe some slight brassing on the sides of the clip, and there are some tiny scratches on the thin band if you look close. There are a few small scuffs on the body, but it is hard to see unless you see in in the light just right. Imprint is good. The 14kt. Venus nib is a soft, smooth XF (0.3mm). It has a nice ball of tipping at the end and writes pretty decently (and even more fine) upside down. The nib has some flex that comes easily and has pretty decent responsiveness. This isn’t a big name pen brand, but it’s still quite a nice pen.
