Waterman 5116 – GOOD FLEX (On Ebay)
Here a beautiful Waterman 5116 in a light brown marbled and pinstriped celluloid. This pen is just over 5″ and is a bit thicker than a 52 (12mm at the barrel vs. the 11mm of a 52), so it is a good sized pen. It has the classy three piece gold-filled thin-thick-thin band. It is a 40s era pen. The pen is in very good condition. The body has no serious scratch marks and the imprints are good. The gold-filled bands and lever are in good condition with only minor signs of wear. The rivet holding the clip in at the top of the cap is worn with signs of rusting, and the right top edge of the clip shows some wear (see pics). The 14kt. Waterman #5 nib is a super, glassy smooth XF (0.3mm) with some decent flex. It has a range of 0.3mm to 1.7mm. It has pretty good ease of flex, but doesn’t quite have the responsiveness of a super flex nib.
