Waterma 0552 1/2 – Super Flex (On Ebay)
This is a fairly unusual Waterman 0552 1/2. It has a thinner profile than the 52, and thus the “1/2” designation. The “05” refers to it’s gold filled filigree. This model, however, has the shorter cap and has the end covered (often designated “LEC” – lower end covered though this pen doesn’t have the designation). It is in very good overall condition. The pen shows no signs of brassing but does have a few light scratches in the overlay. The end of the barrel has a few dings (see pics) and a couple of bite marks on the section. The hard rubber under the overlay is a dark brown. The pen has no personalization. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is fabulous. It has near wet noodle ease of flex. It is pretty responsive and goes from a XF/F (0.35mm) to BBB (1.9mm). It is fairly easy to control the flex on this. Normally it writes as decently wet XF/F nib, but it takes very little pressure to get some flair. Great pen.
