Waterma 12 1/2 PSF – Super Flex (On Ebay)
This is a Waterman you do not see all that often. It is a 12 1/2 PSF. It is the predecessor to the 52 1/2. The “1/2” means thinner profile and the “PSF” means that it fills by lever. It is made of BCHR. The chasing and imprints are great and the color is very good. Very black. It has two gold-filled bands that appear to have been added after market. The top band actually sticks out over the cap by just a millimeter to so. The bands are in pretty good condition but does have some tiny spots of brassing here and there. The lever has some deep scratching and plate loss where the scratching is. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is superb. It is a great flex nib. It writes normally as an XF (0.3mm) but it is also oblique, which actually adds some character both to your writing and to the flexing. The feed is plenty wet to keep up with it when goes all the way up to 2.0mm, but it does not write over wet normally. It has good responsiveness and is just a pleasure to flex with.
