Sheaffer Ring Top Self Filling – WET NOODLE
Here is the first Wet Noodle I have ever listed on ebay. It’s a BCHR Sheaffers Ring Top with a “Self-Filling” nib. One side of this pen looks near mint. It’s jet black with crisp chasing and imprints. The other side got left in the sun for too long at some point, and it has browned some. I tried to show the difference in the pictures. The chasing is crisp around the whole of the pen. Sheaffer’s black hard rubber is thicker than, say, Waterman’s and generally feels more substantial. The gold on the top has bit of brassing on the corners and a couple of dings. The lever also has a little brassing on one end. At first glance, the nib looks to have a crease in a tine that would be a mark of a sprung nib. However, after close examination, the indentation does not go across the tine as a sprung nib would. It’s not a “crease” at all, but a ding meaning the nib was never sprung but had something ding it from top side. I tried to show it the pics. This is a Wet Noodle nib with very easy flex up to 2.2mm! It works best with thicker, wet inks (that’s P/I Ku Jaku in the pics). The feed is very, very short, so some times the pen has to be up right for a few strokes before the feed catches up. It writes as a wet Fine, but it is not the best daily writer. Superb for flexing.
