Parker Lucky Curve Ring Top #2 – Super Flex

Parker Lucky Curve Ring Top #2 – Super Flex

Here is a vintage Lucky Curve from Parker in a vest size ring top. The BCHR is in nice condition with some color fading to a very dark brown. The gold filled band on the cap is in good condition with some minor surface scratches from everyday use but no brassing. Same goes for the ring top, though it has some more wear than the band. Chasing looks good and still has nice texture. Imprints are worn a bit but still readable. The 14kt. Lucky Curve nib is a wet F (0.4mm) with just a bit of feedback in normal writing. There is enough tipping this nib to last a good long time, but I wouldn’t grind it down any thinner than it is. The flex is really nice going with ease up to BBB+ (1.8mm). Responsiveness is also great. Flow is great. It’s just all around great flex nib.

Wahl-Eversharp Gold-Filled Skyline – Super Flex

Wahl-Eversharp Gold-Filled Skyline – Super Flex

This is a standard size Skyline in a full gold-filled body. Overall, the condition is pretty good. The only spot of brassing I could see is a little on the edges of the lever from rubbing on the pen cap when it is posted. There is a decent sized ding on the body (see pic), and one very small ding on the cap. Often these pens are full of pin prick dings and scratches all over. The 14kt. Eversharp nib is beautiful, wet writer. Silky smooth and soft nib with lots of flow. It writes normally as a F/M (0.55mm). The flex comes quite easily with decent range going up to at least 1.5mm. For a near medium nib, the flex responds with surprising snappiness. The flow is more than enough to keep up, which isn’t surprising for a Skyline. Overall, great pen in a durable and beautiful metal body.

Waterman 52 – Super Flex

Waterman 52 – Super Flex

Here is a great Waterman 52 in BCHR with nickel trim. The pen is in pretty good condition overall. The hard rubber has faded to a dark, brownish, grayish black. The chasing is faded some on the body (more so than the cap), though there is still some texture to it but not much. Plenty of texture still on the cap. There is some wear on the clip but only brassing on the very bottom of the ball. The lever has some wear on the edges of the box but no brassing. The imprints are worn but readable. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a surprisingly smooth XXF. It does not have the feedback you expect from such a fine nib, though there is still a small amount due to its fineness. The flex comes pretty easily and has a good range going from 0.2mm to 1.5mm (BB). The responsiveness of this nib is really outstanding making for some really nice, controlled flexing. Overall…it’s a 52 in good condition with a great nib. That’s about all you can ask for.
