Wahl Gold-Filled Ring Top – Wet Noodle (SOLD)

Wahl Gold-Filled Ring Top – Wet Noodle (See Price Here)

Here is a gorgeous Wahl gold-filled ring top with a Wahl #2 nib. The light wear on this pen is just what would be expected from normal use. There is some scuffing of body near the section from threading the cap on and off as well as some on the barrel end from posting the cap. There is a scratch on the bottom of the barrel near the section that actually goes into the threads on the section (see pics). The Wahl #2 nib is a rare XXF with fantastic flex ability. The 0.2mm ultra fine nib does have a bit of a scratch for normal writing as would be expected, and it flexes with ease up to BBB (1.7mm). The ease of flex is not paintbrush like. There is more control to it than that. The super fine point also allows this nib to feel wonderfully responsive. If you are looking for big, sloppy flex, this isn’t the nib. If you are looking for precision flex, this is it. This nib is worth more than the body. It is an “artist” like nib in the ultra portable and durable body of gold-filled ring top.

Waterman 52 1/2V Red Ripple – Good / Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 52 1/2V Red Ripple – Good / Super Flex  (On Ebay)

This Waterman 52 1/2V in Red Ripple hard rubber is in nice condition. There is a slight bit of fading on the hard rubber but not much. The imprints are pretty crisp. The gold-filled trim is also quite nice. There is little bit of brassing on the top edge of the cap band. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a very soft and smooth writing F/M (0.5mm) that is quite wet. It has a little bit of a stubbish feel. The flex on this is pretty good. It has some nice range going from 0.5mm to 1.6mm. It lacks a little bit of responsiveness and is really in between a high “good flex” and a low “super flex” in my grading system. It’s a great Waterman in the portable 52 1/2V design.

Waterman 52V Red Ripple – Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 52V Red Ripple – Super Flex (On Ebay)

This Waterman 52V in the classic Waterman Red Ripple hard rubber is in excellent condition. The hard rubber shows very minimal fading and still has great color. The imprints are nice and crisp. The golf-filled trim is in great condition with no brassing. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a very lovely F. The nib is really a very nice normal writer. The kind that makes you want to write something just so you can use it. It’s buttery smooth with a good medium wetness. The flex on it has some good range going from F (0.4mm) to BBB (1.7mm) and the flow keeps up well. The responsiveness is decent but not out of this world. Overall, this is a superb Waterman 52V in superb condition

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline (Demi) – Good Flex (SOLD)

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline (Demi) – Good Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is a nice Wahl-Eversharp Skyline in brown with gold-filled trim. This pen has only light surface scratching on the body from normal use. The cap is in great condition with no dings or dents. The trim overall is in great condition with just a small spot of plate loss on the lever from posting the cap, but you have to look closely to see it. The 14kt. Eversharp nib is wonderful writer. It’s long tines make it an elegant and smooth writer with plenty of wetness. The nib also has some nice “definition.” It’s normally an XF (0.3mm) but flexes up to BB (1.3mm). The flex  comes pretty easily. In fact, you can get this to flex a little with almost very little pressure. But higher than the initial swell, and the nib gets a bit stiffer. Responsiveness is decent, so you can still create some nice flex work with it. There is reasons Skylines are such admired pens, and this one shows off a lot of the reasons why.

Waterman 42 1/2 V Wood Grain – Good / Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 42 1/2 Wood Grain – Good / Super Flex  (On Ebay)

Here is a fabulous Waterman Safety pen. I believe it is a 42 1/2 though the number imprints is no longer visible. At some point someone removed the surface layer of faded hard rubber to return it to a like new appearance. Everything on this pen is restored and fully functional. The imprints are worn and difficult to read. There is no trim on the pen. If you aren’t acquainted with these safety, they are filled like an eyedropper when the nib is retracted into the barrel. When you remove the cap and turn the back section, the nib emerges from the barrel. They are one of the most intriguing designs in vintage pens, and I personally love them.  Since there is a seal over the barrel when capped, you never have to worry about ink leaking into the cap. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a very nice, smooth and pretty wet writing XF. A great normal writer. The flex on this one is right on the border of good and super. It’s a bit stiffer than a typical super flex, but better than most good flexes. Overall, this is a fantastic and collectible pen that is a joy to use.

Waterman 52V Red Ripple – Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 52V Red Ripple – Super Flex (On Ebay)

Here is a lovely Waterman 52V in Waterman’s iconic red ripple hard rubber. With the nickel trim, this is likely from the European market. The fading of this pen is minimal, and the imprints are still very crisp. There is also minimal wear on the trim and no brassing. In short, this pen is close to mint condition. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a beautiful nib. It’s a wet, glassy smooth writing XF (0.3mm). When flexed this ranges up to BBB (1.7mm) with ease. The flow has no trouble keeping up. Though the wetness of the flow does make it a bit less responsive than it would be, the responsiveness is still decent. Overall, this is a fantastic all around Waterman in fantastic condition.
