Waterman 52V – Good/Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 52 – Good/Super Flex (On Ebay)

This is a Waterman 52V in BCHR in nice condition. The black hard rubber has faded a little to a very dark brown. It sill looks black in some light. The chasing is still visible and has some texture to it. The imprints on the side are worn, but they are mostly readable. The “52V” on the end of the barrel is good and crisp. The nickel filled trim looks great with very little signs of wear to them. The clip, however, is missing the ball. You probably wouldn’t know that unless you knew it was supposed to be there as it still works great as a clip and looks normal as well. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a F with medium flow and just a hint of feedback. It’s definitely not scratchy but it’s not slippery either. The nib has some nice flex as well. It was a hard nib to grade. Ease of flex is in the super flex range but it doesn’t have a huge range of flex. But it does have some very nice responsiveness as well. I’d say this is right on the border between “good” and “super” on my scale. It’s a great Waterman in nice condition.

Waterman 52 – Wet Noodle

Waterman 52 – Wet Noodle  (See Price Here)

Here is a fantastic Waterman 52 in BCHR. The pen is in great condition except for two flaws. The first is that the hard rubber has faded some to a dark blackish brown. The second is that the clip has been bent out and then back it to a shape that more closely resembles an Aikin Lambert clip. The lack of markings on the clip almost give you the impression that this was done for some intentional purpose. But that is just an educated guess. Anyway, it still functions well as a clip. Apart from this, the trim looks great with no brassing and every very little signs of wear. The chasing and the imprints on the pen are still very good as well. This pen also boasts a very lovely 14kt. Waterman #2 nib that is a very wet and smooth writing F (0.5mm). It’s a lovely writer (if you like wet pens) that has some soft, wet noodle flex. The ease of flex isn’t quite paintbrush soft, but it is getting close to that. It ranges from 0.5mm (F) to a large 1.9mm (BBB+). It’s a Waterman 52 with a great, noodle nib. What more is there to say.

Waterman 14 – Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 14 – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

This is a Waterman 14 eyedropper in BCHR. The hard rubber has faded to a dark brown. The chasing has also worn. It is visible but has lost most of its texture. The imprints are also worn, but it is most readable. You do have to look close to read them, though. The “14” on the back is nice and crisp. The nickel clip is in good shape. There is a little bit of wear but no brassing. The 14kt. Waterman #4 is a superb nib. It is a slightly oblique F (0.5mm) that is a bit stubbish. It writes a bit on the wet side, but it’s not a gusher. It’s also a little stubbish. The flex on the pen is beautiful. It has a great range going up to 1.8mm (BBB). It also has some excellent responsiveness, and that combined with the oblique, stubbish nib allows for some for crisp flex writing. Overall, an excellent Waterman 14 with fantastic writing abilities.

Parker Lady Lucky Curve – Wet Noodle

Parker Lucky Curve – Wet Noodle  (See Price Here)

Here is a nice Parker Lucky Curve in a vest pen size. The black hard rubber is still jet black and does not appear to have faded at all over the years. There is some light scratching from its years of life, but nothing deep or significant. The chasing is still very crisp throughout the pen. The imprints also look great with very little wear to them. The gold-filled clip has no brassing that I could find. The best part of this pen, though, is the nib. It’s a 14kt. Lucky Curve #2. It is a very wet writing F that feels almost like a Medium due to it’s wetness. It is quite stubbish, and is smooth and soft and graceful. A great little writer. Additionally, the flex is beautifully soft. I have had softer nibs than this but not by much. I would call this a paintbrush flex. It takes very little pressure to get some nice variation. The nib flexes from 0.5mm (the picture is incorrect) to a huge 2.0mm. The flow is on the wet side even for flex pen and has no trouble keeping up. And the nib maintains some good responsiveness.

SIZE:  4 1/2″ Capped

Waterman 412 – Wet Noodle

Waterman 412 – Super Flex/Wet Noodle  (See Price Here)

The Waterman 412 is a Waterman 12 with a sterling silver overlay (thus the “4” at the front). The black hard rubber under the overlay has faded to a dark brown. The overlay looks great for its age. It does have a few small dings on the top of the cap. The clip is missing it’s ball at the end. The imprint on the end of the barrel is still good and crisp. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a superb nib. Normally it writes as a wet and very elegant F (0.4mm) that is a bit stubbish. The flex on the pen is very, very nice. It has a soft flex that is bordering between “super flex” and “wet noodle.” In addition it has some great range of flex going from F to BBB (0.4mm-1.8mm). The feed is very wet and puts a lot of ink on the page. And it has some pretty nice responsiveness. Overall, a great vintage work of art.

Waterman Starlet – Super Flex

Waterman Starlet – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is a gorgeous made in USA Waterman Starlet in grey marble celluloid. I really enjoy this line from Waterman, which is rather underrated in my opinion. The celluloid is gorgeous and pictures cannot capture the depth of it. The Starlet is the junior version of the Stalwart. The body is in superb condition with no blemishes to report. The gold-filled trim is in excellent condition with just a tiny bit of brassing around the edges of the rivet holding in clip. The clip is firmly attached. The lever looks great and the imprints are perfect. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is a lovely, wet writing F (0.4mm). It’s got a nice sweet spot. The nib also has some nice flex ranging from F to BB (1.8mm). The ease of flex is a slightly on the stiffer side of “super flex” but it has some nice responsiveness. A lovely pen from the 1940s by Waterman.

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

This is a standard size Skyline in brown with gold-filled trim. The body of the pen is in nice condition. There is some very light scratching throughout, but most of it disappeared when I buffed and polished the pen. There are a two or three scratches near the cap that are still minor but wouldn’t buff out. The trim looks very good. There is just a hint of plate loss on the sides of the middle of the lever from where the cap rubs when posted. The 14kt Eversharp nib is a wet writing F (0.45mm). I’d call it a true Fine, and it is a smooth and a very lovely writer. The nib also has some nice flex going up to a large 1.9mm (BBB). The flow is very wet and has no problems keeping up. It has average responsiveness. It’s a nice all around Skyline that won’t disappoint.

Parker Lucky Curve Jack Knife 20 1/2 – Super Flex

Parker Lucky Curve Jack Knife 20 1/2  – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

Here is a Parker Lucky Curve Jack Knife #20 1/2 in black hard rubber. The hard rubber has faded a bit to a dark, grayish brownish black color. The imprints are all readable, but the ones on the cap and the number on the blind cap are worn and you have to look closely. The clip looks pretty good. A little bit of wear showing but no brassing. The 14kt. Parker Lucky Curve #2 is a medium wet F. It writes smooth, not glassy smooth, but not scratchy at all. The flex on this nib is very nice. It comes easy. Has great range going from F (0.4mm) to BBB (1.8mm). It has good responsiveness as well. A great vintage Lucky Curve.

Waterman 12 – Super Flex

Waterman 12 – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

Here is a great Waterman 12 in really nice condition. The black hard rubber has faded some to a very dark brown. The chasing, however, shows little wear and is quite crisp is the imprint. The number on the end of the barrel still has the original red paint. The gold filled trim also looks nice. The clip does have a little bit of wear and scuffing around some of the imprints. The band looks great. It has the initials “L.S.” is a lovely script. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a very wet writing F/ M (0.5mm). It writes smooth and has a slightly stubbish feel to it. It’s wetness really does make if feel like a Medium. The flex on this nib ranges up to BBB (1.8mm). The flow is very wet and has no problem keeping up with the nib. Due to it’s wetness and wide nib, it has average responsiveness. But this is a great Waterman 12 vintage eyedropper is fantastic condition for a 100 plus year pen.
