Moore L-72 Ring Top – Good/Super Flex (SOLD)

Moore L-72 Ring Top – Good Flex

This is a version of the Moore L-72. it comes in a green and black marbled celluloid. The green part has faded in spots to a brownish color. There is some light scratching throughout the pen from use, but nothing significant. There are some light bite marks on the end of the barrel. The imprint is still quite crisp, and the gold-filled trim looks great with no brassing. The pressure bar on this Moore was missing, so I have replaced it with a new J bar. The lever is a bit loose as is common in my experience with these Moore lever-fillers. The 14kt. Moore nib is a smooth and wet XF (0.3mm) that flexes up to 1.7mm. The flex on this pen is too stiff to be classified as a super flex, but it is more responsive than usual for a “good flex” grade. It’s a great writing pen with a nice flex ability.

Waterman 52 Red Mottled – Super Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 52 Red Mottled – Super Flex (On Ebay)

This is a superb Waterman 52 in red mottled hard rubber. The wood grain hard rubber pattern is still very nice with very little fading. In fact, it looks almost as nice as when new. It still even has some good shine to it. Imprints are all very nice and crisp. The gold filled trim is in good condition. There is a little bit of wear on the very edges of the clip and the edges of the lever box; otherwise, it looks beautiful. I grade the pen Near Mint if wasn’t for this little bit of wear. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a special one. This is a wet and smooth writing XF (0.3mm) that really borders on being a wet noodle. The flex is very easy and goes from XF – BB (0.3mm to 1.7mm). It’s the responsiveness that really sets this nib apart. It’s more responsive than a good many wet noodles. It’s the perfect nib for calligraphic writing. This is just a superb example of what a Waterman pen can be at it’s best.

Wahl Ring Top Red Hard Rubber – Good Flex (SOLD)

Wahl Ring Top Red Hard Rubber  (On Ebay)

Here is a Wahl vest pen with ring top in red hard rubber. The pen is in good condition overall. The hard rubber still has some of the original chasing, but it is worn some. Original imprint at the top of the cap is worn as well. The color of the pen is still pretty good. There is a tiny crack going from the lever box to the lever pin hole, but everything appears to be stable. All the gold trim looks to be in great condition with no brassing. The pen no longer has the original Wahl nib. Instead, it has a 14kt. Warranted nib that is in excellent condition with great tipping. The nib writes as a wet and smooth F (0.4mm). Very good for normal writing. It also has some good flex going up to 1.5mm. It’s a little stiff and lacking in responsiveness to to be graded higher, but still a great nib.

Waterman 52V Red Ripple – Wet Noodle

Waterman 52V Red Ripple  – Wet Noodle (See Price Here)

This is a beautiful Waterman 52V in red ripple hard rubber that is in fantastic condition. There is just a slight bit of fading on the hard rubber. The imprints are all in good, crisp, easy to read condition. The trim looks great with no signs of brassing. And to top it all off it has a great nib. The 14kt. Waterman #2 is a smooth, wet writing, stubbish F. And it has great flex abilities. It ranges from 0.4mm to 1.8mm (BBB). It is snappy and responsive enough to use for detail flex work. The flex also comes easy. This one is on the border between “super flex” and “wet noodle.” This is a fantastic example of the beautiful Red Ripple pen.   (See Price Here)

Mabie Todd Swan Over/Under Feed – Super Flex (SOLD)

Mabie Todd Swan Over/ Under Feed Eyedropper- Super Flex (On Ebay)

Here is a made in England Mabie Todd Swan eyedropper (Model 3012) in black chased hard rubber and sporting The hard rubber has browned some to a dark blackish brown. Chasing has been worn smooth but it is still visible. The imprints are all good and crisp throughout the pen with the exception on the light imprint of the model #, which is worn but mostly readable. This pen will also come with the original box as well as ink dropper (which is too old to be functional though). This pen is quite thin, about like writing with pencil. The 14kt. Swan nib is very soft and smooth writing F. Oddly for an eyedropper it is not very wet in normal writing. It is not dry, but about medium wetness. I should say that the nib may look to have a crease it in the tip, but its actually a slight depression in nib that is just the way the nib was originally made. The flex on this nib comes pretty easily up to 1.6mm. A nice vintage eyedropper.

SIZE:  5 1/4″ Capped

NIB: Mabie Todd Swan #2, XF to BBB (0.3mm-1.8mm)  SUPER FLEX (See “Grading Flex Nibs” for How I Grade)

Wahl BCHR Flat Top – Super Flex (SOLD)

Wahl BCHR Flat Top with Roller Clip – (On Ebay)

This is a Wahl full sized pen in black chased hard rubber. The hard rubber on the pen is still quite black. Chasing is also very good with little signs of wear. The gold trim all looks to be in good condition with little to no brassing on the cap band, lever, and roller clip. The initials “D.L.” are engraved in a nice script in the cap band. This pen comes equipped with a 14kt. Wahl Eversharp “Signature” nib. This nib writes extremely fine, XXF or 0.2mm, but is pretty smooth considering just how fine it is. It also has a nice bouncy flex that comes pretty easily up to 1.6mm and is pretty responsive. Being that fine it doesn’t take much to make good flex writing.

SIZE:  5 1/8″ Capped

NIB: Wahl-Eversharp “Signature”, XF to BBB (0.2mm-1.6mm) SUPER FLEX (See “Grading Flex Nibs” for How I Grade)

FILLING: Lever

Waterman 94 – Medium Flex (SOLD)

Waterman 94 Blue & Cream  (On Ebay)

Here is a Waterman 94 in blue and cream marbled celluloid. The cream on body and a little on the cap has browned some. The hard rubber section has also turned to a dark brown rather than the original black. The chrome plated trim is mostly in good condition. The lever and clip are in good condition. The band on the cap has some scuffing and wear. Imprints are all very good and no personalizations on this pen. The 14kt. Waterman #4 nib is smooth writing F that is about medium wetness. This nib does have some flex up to BB (1.4mm), but it’s on the stiffer side of a flex nib. It’s too snappy to be called a semi-flex in my opinion, so I have graded it “Medium flex.” You can still do some pretty decent flex writing with it. A good size pen, with a nice size nib.
