Waterman 52 – Super Flex  (On Ebay)

This is a Waterman 52 in pretty good condition. It is made of smooth black hard rubber (no original chasing). The black hard rubber has faded a little, but is still pretty black. The pen is missing it’s clip. The lever box does have some wear, and the lever still looks pretty decent even though it has some tiny spots of pitting. The imprints are all good. The 14kt. Waterman #2 nib is the real star of this pen. It is a fantastic Super flex that is nearing wet noodle statues. It writes as an XF (0.3mm) and flexes all the way to 2.3mm! That’s a 2.0mm flex range. It has great control and is a real pleasure to flex with. Will be sad to see this one go.

Waterman 0514 Eyedropper  – SUPER FLEX (On Ebay)

This is a 0514 Waterman eyedropper in pretty good condition. The gold filigree looks pretty nice. I did not see any significant scratches or any dings. It is personalized with “C.M.B.” The black hard rubber has turned a dark brown, and there are two little nicks out of the hard rubber in the section covered by the cap (see pic). The “0514” imprint on the back still looks good. The 14kt. Waterman #4 nib is a nice super flex nib with very good range. It writes quite smooth as a F, but it is not a super wet F as you would expect from an eyedropper. A very beautiful pen.

Waterman 0552 1/2 V – Wet Noodle (On Ebay)

A pretty little Waterman 552 1/2 V ring top. It measures at 3 3/4″. The pen is in pretty good condition, but no where near mint. There is some light scratching in places and deeper scratching on one spot on the lip of the cap (see pic). There is also some wear on the back of the barrel where the cap gets posted. A few very tiny dings here and there. It is personalized with the initials “L.M.B.” This is a very wet medium nib that has fantastically easy flex, and thus the wet noodle grade. It’s not quite a paintbrush, but it still can be a bit hard to control. It flexes all the way up to 2.6mm without even pushing it. Being that this is a WET noodle and a small pen, you can run through an ink fill pretty quickly. A great little pen.

Wahl Gold Filled (4 7/8″) #4 Nib with Clip – (On Ebay)

This is a good sized Wahl gold filled pen measuring at almost 5″. The pen does have some wear. The gold filled surface has scratching throughout the pen. There are some small dings on the top of the cap, and a very light ding or two on the bottom of the barrel. There is a spot of brassing on the lip of the cap. The section has some deep scratches on it. Probably teeth marks. The 14kt. #4 Wahl nib is a firm fine that writes with a glassy smooth and wet line. Great writer.

Waterman 15 Eyedropper  – SUPER FLEX (On Ebay)

This Waterman 15 is made of smooth black hard rubber (no original chasing). It is still fairly black, though it is has browned a bit to a very dark brown. Dark enough to look black in some lights. Imprints are good and crisp. There are some bite marks around the section (see pic). Otherwise, the pen is in great shape. The 14kt. Waterman #5 writes as a nice XXF. It has very good range of flex going up to 1.8mm. However, it is a bit stiff. The XXF nib along with good flex range makes flexing pretty nice, but the stiffness does limit it’s ability.

Waterma 12 1/2 PSF – Super Flex (On Ebay)

This is a Waterman you do not see all that often. It is a 12 1/2 PSF. It is the predecessor to the 52 1/2. The “1/2” means thinner profile and the “PSF” means that it fills by lever. It is made of smooth black hard rubber (no original chasing). The body of the pen is still quite black, but the cap has browned a bit. The imprints are still crisp. The cap has some type of silver band. The band is not original. It appears that the lip of the cap was cracked and this band was installed to cover and stabilize it. The nickel plated lever is still in good condition with no plate loss. The 14kt. #2 Waterman nib writes as a very smooth XF (0.3mm) and flexes well up to 1.9mm. It is fairly responsive which is good because it really pours out the ink when flexed. It is a very good super flex nib.

Diamond Medal Ring Top – Super Flex (On Ebay)

This is a Diamond Medal ring top pen. These pens have no relation to Diamond Point pens. They were high quality pens made by National Pen out of Chicago and were sold exclusively by Sears Roebuck. The pen is in great condition. The black celluloid body looks very good. The gold filled trim shows little to no brassing. The imprints is nice and crisp. The nib is a 14kt. Singer Pitts #2. I do not know anything about these nibs, but from using it I can say that it is a high quality nib. It has some fantastic flex going from XF (0.3mm) up to 2.5mm! If it was a bit easier to flex, I’d call it a wet noodle. It writes as a wet XF that is quite smooth. It is probably the best flexing nib I am offering this week.

Wahl-Eversharp Skyline – Super Flex – (On Ebay)

This is a grey and gold Skyline in standard size (5 1/4″). Overall, the pen is in great condition. The gold trim looks great. There is just one small spot of brassing on the lever. The body looks good with just some very light scratching that you can only see if you look very close. The only real flaw is that there is a hairline crack through part of the threads. You can barely see it with the naked eye. I shellacked the section into the barrel to prevent further cracking. It should hold up well. The 14kt. Eversharp nib is a smooth XF that flexes well up to 1.9mm. It has pretty decent responsiveness making it a nice super flex nib.

Conklin Endura – Good Flex – (On Ebay)

This is a Conklin Endura made of hard rubber in a red/ black woodgrain pattern. It is in fair condition. The hard rubber is faded a bit. The imprint is decent, though “ENDURA” is a bit faded. Still readable. There is some brassing on one section of the band, and a few spots on the clip. The lever is good. There are bite marks at the end of the barrel (see pic), and some on the top of the cap as well though they are much lighter. The 14kt. Conklin Endura nib is a smooth and very wet fine with flex. This nib is interesting. It flexes all the way to 2.0mm and has great range of flex, but it is really too stiff to be a super flex. It it didn’t have such great line variation, I probably would have graded it as medium flex.

Waterman 5 – Wet Noodle  SOLD!

Here is a gorgeous Waterman 5 made of black celluloid. It is a made in Canada Waterman and is in very good condition. The pen has nothing but the lightest scratches on it and you only see those if you look close. It does have some brassing on the top of the clip and a little on the lever; otherwise, the rim is in great shape. Imprint on the cap is a little worn, but the one on the barrel is still crisp. The 14kt. Waterman #5 is beauty! It is an extremely smooth writing fine (0.4mm) and would make a fantastic everyday writer. But it also flexes to a massive 2.6mm. It’s a beautiful pen with some fantastic flex. SOLD
